FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A Bridgeport woman was arrested after getting into a fight with her boyfriend in a parking lot and throwing his keys onto the roof of the Andros Diner in Fairfield on Saturday, Dec. 6, police said.
At about 4:20 a.m. Saturday, Raymond Rose of Stratford was eating with a man and two women when his girlfriend, Ashyia Barnett, came to the diner to confront him, Fairfield police said.
A fight between the two quickly escalated outside, and security guards who were eating at the diner came out into the parking lot to try to separate Barnett and Rose, according to police.
Police said that one of the security guards described the encounter as “a fair fight.”
Barnett was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, breach of peace and third-degree assault after she admitted hitting Rose multiple times, kicking out his driver's side mirror, ripping a gold chain off his neck and throwing his keys onto the roof of the diner, police said.
Rose was charged with breach of peace after hitting Barnett and causing a visible scratch on her right nostril, police said.
According to Barnett, police said, her only other injury was to her hand, which she said was caused by hitting Rose.
Barnett was held for about three hours at Fairfield police headquarters on $5,000 bond before being released.
Both parties are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Dec. 8.
