Women Charged With Shoplifting $900 In Jewelry, Clothes In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Two Bridgeport women were arrested on shoplifting charges Friday after they left Kohl’s in Fairfield with nearly $900 in jewelry and clothing, police said.

Jacqueline Rhea Garavel, 50, of Soundview Avenue, and Lourdes Molina, 41, of Pilgrim Road, paid for some items, but then left the Tunxis Hill Road store with a cart full of items with no tags that they had not purchased, police said. They were apprehended by store security, police said.

Molina was found with about $436 worth of stolen merchandise, and Garavel had $256 worth, police said.

Each woman was charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. They were released on promises to appear in court on Feb. 8.
