Sanders, a U.S. senator from Vermont, will host rallies in New Haven and Hartford. He will discuss a wide range of issues, including getting big money out of politics, his plan to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, combating climate change and ensuring universal health care.
At 7 p.m. Sunday, Sanders will hold a rally outside on the New Haven Green, featuring R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe.
This is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged, the campaign said in a statement. Admission is first-come, first-served basis.
For security reasons, participants are asked to not bring bags and to limit what is brought to small, personal items such as keys and cellphones.
Weapons, sharp objects, chairs, and signs or banners on sticks will not be allowed through security.
Limited street parking is available in the area, and carpooling or public transportation is strongly encouraged.
At 10 a.m. Monday, April 25, Sanders will hold an outdoor rally featuring Jim Dean, chairman and co-founder of Democracy for America. The rally will be held at the Mortensen Riverfront Plaza's Riverfront Amphitheater at 300 Columbus Blvd., Hartford. Doors will open at 7 a.m.
The rally is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged.
The same rules from the New Haven rally apply.
Sanders is not the only presidential candidate who will be in the state. Republican front-runner Donald Trump is making appearances Saturday in Waterbury and Bridgeport. And Hillary Clinton is making a campaign stop in Bridgeport on Sunday.
The Connecticut primary is set for Tuesday, April 26. You must be a registered member of the Democratic or Republican party to cast a vote.
