FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The General Assembly finally passed a $41 billion two-year state budget at the end of last month, but that wasn't the end of cuts in aid funding to towns and cities in Connecticut.

On Friday, Gov. Dannel Malloy announced a decision to hold back $91 million in state aid to keep the budget balanced.

With the budget changes from Malloy, a total of 160 municipalities will see budget cuts and nine will get more state funds, according to CT Mirror.

Only one town in Fairfield County — Sherman — will seen an increase in state funding, according to figures published by CT Mirror. The big losers — with seven-figure cuts in funding — include Bethel, Bridgeport, Fairfield and Stratford, CT Mirror reported.
