FAIRFIELD, Conn. — It was a crowded scene at Dwight School in Fairfield as a large number of voters headed to the polls before work on Tuesday morning.
Voters reported waits of 20 to 40 minutes at the polling place, a couple of voters in line reported.
The wait time was not as bad as some expected given the size of the crowds — it seems many parents had brought along their children to possibly view history with the race between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton, who could be the first female president.
Long lines were also reported at a packed polling place later in the morning at Mill Hill School in Fairfield.
There's still plenty of time to vote: Polls are open in Connecticut until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
