To the Editor,

I’ve witnessed Brenda Kupchick’s dedication to our town throughout her years of service to our community.

Brenda and I both served together on the Board of Education and the Representative Town Meeting, and during that time I saw her constantly advocate on behalf of families and students. I saw Brenda work with teachers to institute new curriculum policies. I saw her approach the complex issue of redistricting with a desire to consider everyone’s opinions. I saw her fight to reopen Ludlowe to help with overcrowding and to renovate our schools. Brenda fought for years as an RTM member for our town budgets to cover funding for the most essential services while always carefully scrutinizing to be sure the costs weren't being burdened on the backs of Fairfield taxpayers.

Frankly, throughout my years on the BOE and the RTM, I never saw Brenda’s opponent come to a Board of Education, RTM or board of finance meeting to advocate for Fairfield's students as many parents across the town did for years.

Brenda’s opponent filed papers for the state rep election scarcely a month after she first won a seat on the RTM, without ever having voted on a town budget or any other important town issue.

Actions speak louder than words, and Brenda’s actions have shown that she will always fight for issues that matter to our community. Brenda's record is of a true advocate, who has put in years of hard work while always listening and learning from all sides of every issue facing our community.

From the RTM to the Board of Education to the State Legislature, Fairfielders have consistently voted to have Brenda represent them. It would be hard to find anyone who could rival Brenda Kupchick's record as a leader for Fairfield.
