To the editor:

Connecticut has so much going for it but we continue to neglect our transportation issues. You don't have to be a commuter to realize that we have some serious congestion issues. The Democrats in Hartford, including Gov. Dannel Malloy and Cristin McCarthy Vahey, just don’t seem to get it.

McCarthy Vahey has voted to fund these last two budgets with record high tax increases. Although she claims that she voted against the budget proposal, which she did, she then voted immediately afterward for fully funding the proposal - a political game not lost on those of us who watch.

Now the Democrats want to impose a Metro-North fare increase of 5%. We can pay more and get less. The Fairfield Metro Center in McCarthy Vahey’s district does not even have bathrooms and yet she stays quiet on the issue. They are also exploring a mileage tax on drivers where you would be taxed at the end of the year for every mile you drove. We need a change and I am proud to support Ray Neuberger for State Representative.

Neuberger supports a solid budget plan that will get Connecticut back on track and will fight for Fairfield and not cave to pressures of his party leadership. It is time for a change and I hope you will help make that happen on November 8th.
