Hwang (R- Fairfield) and Steele, a former 2nd District congressman from Essex, said there is "growing indication that Democratic leaders are quietly maneuvering to keep keno on the books in order to raise $26 million to bolster the state’s shaky budget," according to a press release.

Hwang and Steele said the "Democratic-controlled legislature slipped the highly addictive gambling game into the budget last June without hearings, debate or any provisions for mitigating its harmful social effects," according to the release.

“It is time to stop the back-and-forth KENO soap opera,” Hwang and Steele said in a release, “and to bring the repeal bill to a vote so that each legislator can vote his or her conscience on this important issue.”
