Current state Rep. Tony Hwang is leaving the seat after six years to run for state Senate.

“I have known Laura for the past six years and I have valued and respected her perspective on the issues of transportation, jobs and economic growth, and fiscally responsible governmental spending,” said Hwang.

“Most importantly, I know Laura as a responsible and practical person who practices a philosophy of public service above self, toward making a positive difference for everyone in our community. I strongly support her," Hwang said.

Devlin is a small-business owner and a Fairfield Representative Town Meeting member, representing District 3.

“I am honored to be nominated to represent the citizens of Fairfield and Trumbull in Hartford. In January, Connecticut will start its biennial budget process and I want to be part of that process in order to look out for the best interests of our citizens,” said Devlin.

Devlin supports nonprofit, education and professional organizations such as the Fairfield 375 Food Drive, Dress for Success and the Fairfield College Preparatory School Bellarmine Guild, in addition to her duties as a member of the Fairfield RTM Finance Committee.

She and her husband of 24 years, Phil, have two children.
