Kupchick, who is also co-owner of Peter Kupchick Heating and Cooling, a local small business, has been endorsed by both the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

CBIA, Connecticut’s largest business organization, includes thousands of members from a wide range of industries, while NFIB strives to give small and independent business owners a voice in shaping the public policy issues that affect their companies.

“With so much at stake in this election, we must elect candidates who understand the urgency facing our state, and will make decisions necessary to grow the economy,” said Joe Brennan, CBIA president and chief executive officer. “Brenda has shown a clear grasp of the economic issues facing the people of the 132nd District, and we are pleased to support Brenda as she will continue to work to strengthen Connecticut’s economy.”

Kupchick, whose district includes both Fairfield and Southport, expressed her gratitude for the endorsements.

“We need to make it easier to do business in this state, not harder,” she said. “I’m grateful and proud CBIA and NFIB recognized the work I'm doing to grow our state economy, and that I treat the people of our state who own and operate businesses like people who deserve to have a voice.”

In addition to her support of the business community in the legislature, Kupchick also founded the Fairfield Business Advisory Council, and meets regularly with Fairfield business owners to discuss the issues and challenges they face running businesses in Connecticut.

“Decades of one-party rule in the General Assembly have led to our state being seen as increasingly unfriendly to business,” she said. “As a small business owner, I know the difficulty of operating a business here, and I have firsthand experience trying to navigate the burdensome taxes and regulations that the majority party has imposed on small, medium and large business owners in Connecticut.”
