FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- State Rep. Brenda Kupchick, R-132 Fairfield, recently visited Fairfield Warde High School and spoke with students about her role in state government.
Kupchick spoke about the structure of the General Assembly and how a bill becomes a law from proposal conception to final bill signed by the governor. Kupchick also answered questions on topics including current and proposed laws from shortening the school year to a bill to add a mandatory minimum criminal penalty for those who play the "knockout game."
“I really enjoy spending time talking with students and answering their questions directly,” Kupchick said in a statement. “Young people don’t always feel they are taken seriously, and judging by the questions asked, they are interested with the laws passed in Hartford, laws that directly affect them.”
