Walden Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty After Dog Dies Trapped In Hot Car

WALDEN, N.Y. – A Walden woman is facing animal cruelty charges after her dog was killed when it was left trapped in a hot car outside a Newburgh Motel in August, according to the Times Herald-Record. 

A Wallkill man was charged with beating a dog by the Hudson VAlley Humane Law Enforcement.

Jamie Conroy-Nugent, 35, left her mixed Staffordshire terrier, Zelda, in the car for more than two hours on a day when temperatures exceeded 90 degrees. Zelda was dead on arrival when she was taken to an area vet, the Record said.
