FAIRFIELD, Conn.-- Fairfield University will host the Entrepreneurial Challenge, an Aug. 29 competition designed to support revolutionary ventures in aerospace and beyond.
The biannual competition is used to identify future potential partners and increase collaborative efforts between the small-business community and the Stratford-based Sikorsky Aircraft Corp.
"Selected entrepreneurs will join an extensive network of technical experts, business mentors, strategic partners, potential customers, and experienced investors working together to spark the next big thing," School of Engineering Professor Doug Lyon said in a statement.
The guest speaker will be Jonathan Hartman, who currently serves as the disruptive technologies lead for Sikorsky Innovations, the technology development organization for Sikorsky.
In his role with Sikorsky, Hartman champions the identification and maturation of game-changing technologies and the creation of new processes for collaborating with innovative companies and organizations.
The free event will be in the School of Engineering (McAuliffe Hall), Room 102.
