"The Challenge" is a quiz show for high school students in Cablevision’s coverage area. Teams of four answer high-school-level questions on history, arts, literature, current events, math and science in front of a studio audience.
The top team in the tri-state area could win $10,000 for its school, plus a $500 bonus for each team member. The Falcons are in a pool of 16 teams across Connecticut and 192 in the tri-state area.
Friday’s program will show the Falcon’s second-round match against St. Luke’s School of New Canaan. The taping drew an unusually large number of Ludlowe supporters for the academic event, a Cablevision spokesperson said.
Representing Fairfield Ludlowe this year are team captain Arjun Jain, along with James Cheung, Emily Fish and Thomas Romano; Alexander Yokokawa is an alternate. The team’s academic advisers are John Antonello and Courtenay Trahan.
“The Challenge” airs on MSG Varsity, or Optimum channel 14.
