FAIRFIELD, Conn. Superintendent David Title will stay with Fairfields schools through at least 2015. The Board of Education renewed his contract Tuesday night, granting him a 2 percent pay raise in the process.
I appreciate it. I really enjoy working here and look forward to fulfilling all the terms of the contract, Title said.
Title was chosen to replace outgoing Superintendent Ann Clark in the summer of 2010. His two-year contract was set to expire in July. The school board voted 6-2 to renew his contract through June 2015.
The board also voted to give Title a 2 percent increase on top of his current salary of $273,746, already the highest public salary in Fairfield. The board also agreed to give Title a $12,500 performance bonus.
School board members Sue Brand and Perry Liu voted against both measures, citing the current economic climate. But the remaining board members agreed to the changes.
Thank you for leading our district, Board of Education Chairman Pamela Iacono told Title after the vote. We welcome you, and were happy to have you with us.
