Fairfield Schools Change Plans For Wednesday, Announce Closure

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The day after a massive storm, a number of towns and cities around Fairfield County are continuing to dig out.

On Wednesday, a number of school districts are closed or are opening on delay. 

The Fairfield Public Schools changed its announcement. After announcing a delay earlier, the schools announced this morning that they are closed on Wednesday. 

Here are all the districts in Fairfield County: 

  • Bethel Public Schools: Closed
  • Bridgeport Public Schools: Closed
  • Brookfield Public Schools: Closed
  • Danbury Public Schools: Closed
  • Darien Public Schools: two-hour delay
  • Easton, Redding and Region 9 Schools: Closed
  • Fairfield Public and Parochial Schools: closed (CHANGE from Tuesday night) 
  • Greenwich Public Schools: Two-hour delay
  • Monroe Public Schools: Closed
  • New Canaan Public Schools: Two-hour delay
  • New Fairfield Public Schools: Closed
  • Newtown Public Schools: Closed
  • Norwalk Public Schools: two-hour delay
  • Ridgefield Public Schools: Closed (offices will be open)
  • Shelton Public Schools: Closed
  • Sherman School: Closed
  • Stamford Public Schools: two-hour delay 
  • Stratford Public Schools: Closed
  • Trumbull Public Schools: Closed
  • Weston Public Schools: Closed
  • Westport Public Schools: Three-hour delay
  • Wilton Public Schools: two-hour delay
