"I am proud to see our union come together at a time of need. Thank to all who had participated. It's always great to see children smile when receiving a gift," said Jeffrey Pressler, vice president of Local 1779 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Members of Local 1779 of Council 4 AFSCME, representing nearly 100 Fairfield Board of Education custodial and maintenance employees, delivered toys and other gifts to the Dr. Tom Kennedy Toy Closet at Bridgeport Hospital, which provides new, age-appropriate and educational toys for pediatric patients. In addition to the toys, Local 1779 also purchased $400 worth of CDs, DVDs and I-Tune gift cards to help the hospital’s youngest patients.
