Fairfield University Grad Named Associate VP For Marketing, Communications

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- After an extensive search, Jennifer Anderson has been named Fairfield University’s new associate vice president for marketing and communications.

Anderson, a resident of Fairfield, brings more than 16 years of marketing and communications expertise, including traditional and digital marketing, marketing communications and employee communications, to her new role at Fairfield University. Most recently, she served as the vice president of digital and event marketing for Pitney Bowes, where she oversaw the company’s external and internal web properties, content marketing efforts and the global events organization.

“With her extensive management experience and grasp of contemporary marketing strategies and web communications capabilities, Jennifer brings impressive skill sets to Fairfield," said Kevin Lawlor, Fairfield University’s executive vice president. "As an alumna of both our undergraduate and graduate programs, she also brings with her a love for Fairfield, and an appreciation of what makes Fairfield such a unique learning environment.”

While at Pitney Bowes, Anderson also served as vice president of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the operations of the office, driving key initiatives and supporting strategic communication efforts. She led Marketing for Pitney Bowes Services Solutions, the company’s $1.5 billion global services division, which included mail services, management services and e-commerce businesses, and was accountable for marketing segmentation and cross-sell initiatives and directed all customer-facing marketing and communications initiatives. Before joining Pitney Bowes, she was with Greenwich Magazine as an assistant editor.

Anderson earned an masters of business administration in 2002 and a bachelor's degree in 1997 from Fairfield University, and has attended executive leadership programs at Harvard University and Darden School of Business.
