Fairfield Warde Cited Among Top High Schools By Newsweek

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Students at Greenwich High School and Fairfield Warde High School can puff their chests' out a little further after being listed in Newsweek's ranking of the top 500 schools in the country.

Both schools made the top half of the list with Greenwich coming in at No. 168 and Fairfield Warde at No. 227.

Newsweek enlisted the help of research specialists at Westat to help compile its rankings. 

Schools were ranked on standard performance indicators such as standardized test scores, college readiness indicators like graduation rates and also took into account how well schools with economically disadvantaged students performed against the national average. 

Greenwich boasted a "college readiness" score of 89.01 and was in the 72nd percentile for college-bound students. 

Fairfield Warde also had a strong college readiness score (85.15) and had a graduation rate in the 87th percentile.
