Program Lets Parents Thank Fairfield Teachers

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Do you want to honor a teacher, coach or other school employee who went out of his or her way to help your child this past school year while supporting other innovative teachers at the same time? The Fairfield Foundation for Education says it has a way for you to do just that.

The Fairfield Foundation for Education recently restarted its "Honor an Educator" program. The system allows parents to make a gift to the foundation in honor of a teacher, coach or administrator in Fairfield Public Schools.

The teacher, coach or administrator will receive a certificate of recognition and a special message from the donating parent. His or her name also will be published in the organization’s annual Educator Honor Roll.

The Fairfield Foundation for Education is a nonprofit group founded in 2010. It offers grants to teachers in Fairfield’s public schools for innovative new teaching programs. The money raised through the program will go to pay for those grants.

To nominate someone for the program, visit the organization’s website to download an application form. Then send it, along with a donation of at least $25 to the Fairfield Foundation for Education, PO Box 320561; Fairfield, CT 06825. For more information, contact Gretchen Webster at 202-255-6342.
