Sacred Heart University Honors Mother Delores Hart At Educators Breakfast

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Seventh Annual Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Educators’ Communion Breakfast will be on Sunday, March 22, at Sacred Heart University.

The keynote speaker will be Mother Dolores Hart, Order of Saint Benedict. Hart is a Benedictine nun at the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Conn.

During her seven-year career in film and on Broadway, she starred in 10 films, most notably opposite Elvis Presley in "Loving You" and "King Creole."

Hart also was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in "The Pleasure of His Company."

Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, followed by breakfast in University Commons.

A tour of the Chapel of the Holy Spirit will be offered at 8:30 a.m. and a book signing, with copies of Hart’s book, "The Ear of the Heart: An Actress' Journey from Hollywood to Holy Vows," will be available to purchase at noon.

During the breakfast, CAPP also will honor the Rev. William Sangiovanni as Educator of the Year. Sangiovanni, who served as SHU’s director of Campus Ministry from 1986 to 1991, is in his 35 year at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Fairfield, currently in the role of president.
