Their project was a proposal to improve the museum and history center’s facilities, along with a marketing plan for the town’s Burr Mansion.
The MBA students -- John Hoey, Lindsay Michaels, Melissa Rossi, and Anna Zawadzki -- met for two hours with the museum’s leadership, Valerie Christian, assistant professor of management at Sacred Heart University, said in a press release.
“The presentation was excellent and gave an effective overview of how modest investment in improving the Burr Mansion’s facilities could yield improved revenue,” Michael A. Jehle, executive director of the Fairfield Museum and History Center, said in a press release.
While this project came as a referral from another non-profit, most projects come from the University’s Center for Not-for-Profit Organizations, according to Christian.
“I truly enjoyed the opportunity to work with my talented cross-functional team to achieve our goals and bring forth the most effective and relevant business development plan for the museum,” Rossi said in a press release.
“While we each had expertise in particular disciplines, our broad understanding of each discipline helped us to work together effectively and support one another.”
