The list includes a series of live performances celebrating the Christmas season. The various events will feature musicians and vocalists from SHU and throughout southern Connecticut.
The first event held at the Edgerton Center is “A Choral Christmas Extravaganza,” a concert featuring the SHU Student Choirs scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.
The SHU Student Band will perform “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” the next day, Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
“An Irish Christmas: A Musical Solstice Celebration” takes place on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. It will feature performances by Mick Moloney, Athena Tergis and special guests.
Along with the events at the Edgerton Center, there are festivities planned at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit on campus.
First comes “Festival of Lessons and Carols,” performed by the Liturgical Choir, 4 Heart Harmony, Blended Hearts, SHUpermen and SHU LOVE on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
There's also a planned performance of “Handel’s Messiah,” by The New Haven Symphony Orchestra with Jeffrey Douma conducting and the voices of the Christ Church Choir under the direction of Nathaniel Adam. The show is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m.
