Rachel Finlaw created one of the best photographs by a high school student in the country. And she has a prestigious prize to prove it. The Fairfield Ludlowe High School sophomore is the winner of the Scholastic Art Gold Key Award, a national arts prize for high school students, for her photograph "Elsa". National Award winners and their teachers will be honored at Carnegie Hall in June. "Let me put this in persective for you," said Michelle Hermsen, Finlaw's photography teacher, at Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting. "There were 165,000 entries, 1,300 received awards, only 500 received gold medals."
