Updated: Snow Closes Fairfield Schools

All of the town’s schools have decided to close for Wednesday: Fairfield Public and Parochial Schools, Fairfield Country Day School, Fairfield Prep and Notre Dame High School all have classes cancelled.

Along with the schools, the Pequot Library has announced they will be closed Wednesday. And as of Tuesday night, town buildings are scheduled to open at 1 p.m.

UPDATE, 7:30 a.m.: Fairfield University, Sacred Heart University, and Teddy Bear Corner Daycare, are all closed as well. The Fairfield Public Library is scheduled to re-open with all other town buildings at 1 p.m. And Nutmeg Bowl  has announced they will open at 3 p.m.

The Weather Channel estimates more than 10 inches of snowfall in Fairfield have already hit the ground by 7 a.m. The heaviest snowfall is due to end by late morning, with another four to six inches in the forecast. Visibility is currently less than half a mile, so stay off the roads if possible.
