Atlantic League All-Stars Shine At Block Party In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The 2015 Atlantic League All-Star festivities kicked off Tuesday evening, as the Bluefish shut down a portion of Fairfield Avenue in downtown Bridgeport to host a block party.

Live music and food was available, and All-Star players and Atlantic League team mascots were in attendance.

Music was provided by the Jim Royale A-Team Steel Band Ensemble, The McLovins performed, there was a beer garden at Baldwin Plaza, free photos were provided by Capital Photo Booth, and visitors were able to meet All-Star players and mascots. 

The Atlantic All-Star Game will be played Wednesday, July 8, at 7:05 p.m. at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport. 

The main event will be played in traditional All-Star Game format, with players from Bridgeport’s own Liberty Division facing off against those from the Freedom Division.

Bluefish Manager Ricky VanAsselberg will manage the Liberty Division team, and Lancaster Barnstormers Manager Butch Hobson will manage the Freedom Division team. 

Javier Colon, a Fairfield County native and the winner of the first season of NBC's reality show "The Voice," will sing the National Anthem before the first pitch is thrown. The All-Star Game will be hosted by professional wrestling legend Ric Flair.
