Fairfield American To Be Honored By Bluefish

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Bridgeport Bluefish will honor Fairfield American's run to the Little League World Series during a pre-game ceremony Sept. 14 at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

The Bluefish have declared Sept. 14 "Fairfield American Little League Night" as they take on the Sugarland Skeeters. Fairfield players will be introduced to their Bluefish counterparts on the field and one member of the team will present the lineup card to opposing manager and former major leaguer Gary Gaetti. Fairfield manager Bill Meury will coach first base for the Fish.

Players will also receive commemorative T-shirts. Fireworks will follow the game.

Fairfield American won the New England regional Little League championship this year for the second time in three years en route to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. Fairfield went 2-2 before being eliminated by Petaluma, Calif. One of the wins included Will Lucas's no-hitter.
