Coached by Warde's head basketball coach Ryan Swaller and made up of eighth-grade players who will likely be attending Fairfield Ludlowe, Fairfield Warde, Fairfield Prep, Masuk and Colby Cathedral, Premier Hoops finished the two-day tournament 4-1 and runners-up at the AAU Super Regional in New York on April 26 and 27.

"It's an honor to get a chance to play against some of the best teams in the nation," Swaller said in a statement.

On April 26, Premier Hoops went 2-0 against teams from Long Island, outscoring opponents 136-79. Malcolm Brune and Demetrius Robins led the attack leading the offense in both games.

On April 27, Premier Hoops returned to House of Sports where they defeated their first opponent of the day 55-40. Earning the first-seed in their pool, Premier Hoops took on New Heights from Rye, N.Y. in the semifinals. Receiving excellent play from Will Lucas and Cole ProwittSmith, Premier Hoops defeated New Heights 75-66 advancing to the championship game against House of Sports Elite.

Fatigue played a large part in the final after playing three games in one day, as a one-point game slipped away in the final minutes and House of Sports went on to win 59-51.

"This is a very well-rounded team with the ability play inside and out," Swaller added in the statement. "If we continue to play the way we have been, we will have alot of success this season."
