Competing in the Medium Division against five other teams, Fairfield posted a score of 90.18. The Winchester Sachems of Massachusetts won the competition with a score of 90.54. Fairfield qualified for the event by winning the New England championship last month.
“They had a perfect performance,’’ coach Victoria Scheff said. “They were only .36 from the first place score. It was a close one. They are first in my eyes. They did an amazing job, and it was a great end to a great season.”
Team members are Isabelle Abbott, Sabrina Behboudi, Grace Carrol, Fiona Carter, Aidan Gombos, Emily Haithwaite, Cassie Llewellyn, Joanna Moomjian, Michaela Murdock, Kayla O'Hara, Catherine Ptenza, Kylie Ramirez, Madison Rodrigues, Haley Sepot, Jenna Simonelli and Teddie Tarczali.
Coaches are Scheff, Seri Pasmeg, Sydney Boland, Amy Mulla and Emma Pippert.
The girls traveled to Florida last Friday and competed Wednesday morning. In between the girls traveled to amusement parks, practiced and soaked up the atmosphere.
“This trip was one of the best experiences a team could have together,’’ Scheff said. “They made memories together they will have forever.”
