Fairfield Ludlowe Volleyball Team Heads To State Championship Game

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The girls volleyball team from Fairfield Ludlowe High School has already captured the FCIAC championship — and now it's headed for the state title.

The ninth-seeded team from Ludlowe beat fourth-seeded Cheshire (25-14, 21-25, 25-20, 25-21) on Wednesday night in the Class LL semifinals played at Foran High School in Milford. 

The victory sends the Falcons to the Class LL final on Saturday at Berlin High School, where it will meet Greenwich. The game is tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. 

Ludlowe gained the FCIAC crown by beating Darien. The Falcons repeated that win over Darien in the Class LL quarterfinals.

The Falcons' season record is 21-4.
