The Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department is bringing back the program for kids between the ages 7 and 13 at the Carl Dickman Par 3 from July 25 to Aug. 22, starting at 3 p.m. each Thursday. Junior golfers must bring their own equipment, and show proper golfing etiquette while on the course.
To go along with the program, Fairfield Indoor Tennis is offering a free supervised session for kids ages 10 to 18 at the Fairfield Tennis Center, across the street from the Carl Dickman Par 3. The session runs from 1 to 3 p.m., before the free golfing at the Par 3.
Kids with basic tennis ability can play supervised matches under the guidance of pro Dave Fowler. The sessions will also be available for $10 each at the same time each Thursday after the first week through Aug. 22.
“Tennis and golf are two great lifetime sports” Fairfield Tennis Center manager Val Collison said in a press release. “The residents of Fairfield are lucky to have two exceptional sports facilities right next to each other.”
The Fairfield Tennis Center and the Carl Dickman Par 3 Golf Course are both on Old Dam Road in Fairfield. Pre-registration is not required for either event.
