FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield Prep's hockey team became the state Division 1 champions by defeating Notre Dame of West Haven, 3-2, on Tuesday night at Ingalls Rink in New Haven.

The top-ranked Jesuits scored one goal in each period of the championship game of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference. Wikman came back in the third with the winning goal, scored with assists from Dean Lockery and White. Goalie Matt Beck had 20 saves in the winning effort.

This was the Jesuits third win over Notre Dame this season. They topped the No. 2-seeded team 3-1 on the road in January and 1-0 at home last month.
