Brian Howell, behind a devastating block by Jesse Lawson, scored the winning touchdown on a 15-yard run. Aiden Wykoff ran in for the conversion behind a block by Will Stearns.

Fairfield turned the ball over two times in its first four plays to allow Darien to take an early 7-0 lead. Fairfield scored in the third quarter when Howell scored on a 38-yard pass from David Summers. Lawson’s block set the stage for the elusive Howell to get free in the Darien secondary. Fairfield missed the conversion.

The Wildcats’ defense, led by  Sean Fuller, PJ Egan, Jaden Sneed, Griffin Forberg , Justin Coudert and Danny Russell, stuffed Darien the rest of the way. Fairfield took over on its own 21-yard line with under five minutes to play to start the game-winning drive.

Fairfield converted two fourth-down plays on the drive. Summers got a yard on a quarterback sneak on fourth-and-one at the Wildcats’ 30, and Howell ran 20 yards on a fourth-and-two just a few plays later.

Fairfield also defeated New Canaan Red and Darien Blue in the playoffs.  The playoff win over New Canaan avenged a 21-19 loss in the last game of the regular season.

Fairfield’s roster is Colin Wilson, Brian Howell, Jack Howard, Dylan Beck, David Summers, Jerin Sneed, Patrick Egan, Kevin Quinn, Will Stearns, Donan Meyer, Jesse Lawson, Declan O’Donnell, Brendan Larson, Jack Bowen, Griffin Forberg, Sean Fuller, Kyle Nagy, Aidan Wykoff, Chase Reynolds, Daniel Russell, Michael Eaton, Justin Coudert, Jayden Sneed, Thomas Holtz, Zachary Michael Justin Hathaway, Jack Palmieri, Ryan Hummerstone and Joe Gjinaj. The team was coached by John Lawson and assistant James Forberg.
