Fairfield Runners Help Virginia Cross County To 4th In ACC

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Runners from Fairfield and Westport helped the University of Virginia men’s cross country team to a fourth place finish at the Atlantic Coast Conference championships.

Virginia's Connor Rog was the top runner for the Cavaliers from the ACC Championships. He is a sophomore from Fairfield and a Fairfield Prep grad.

Connor Rog, a sophomore from Fairfield and Fairfield Prep, was Virginia’s top runner in 14th place at 23:40 for the 8-kilometer course.

Rog earned all-Conference honors.

Wynne, a freshman from Westport and Staples High School, finished 43rd in 24:28. He was Virginia’s sixth runner.

Virginia came into the meet ranked 13th in the nation. Syracuse, ranked No. 3 in the country, won the meet led by Martin Hehir, who was the race’s overall winner.
