FAIRFIELD, Conn. Fairfields Daphne Elliott, a junior guard at the University of Hartford, scored the first weekly honor of the season when she was named the America East Player of the Week. Elliott helped lead the Hawks to a pair of victories over Hofstra, 61-59, and Boston College, 54-45, at the Chase Family Arena at the Reich Family Pavilion.
Elliott finished both games with double figures in the scoring column, her second and third straight games with double-digit points. Elliott opened the week with 11 points in the win over the Pride and finished with a game-high 20 points in the win over BC. It was the second time this season she has finished with 20-plus points and was one shy of her career high.
