FAIRFIELD, Conn. Fairfield Americans all-stars are returning to town Thursday, and the public is invited to welcome them back. The team bus will arrive at Sherman Green downtown for a special ceremony Thursday afternoon.
Fairfield American's 12-year-old all-stars ended their Little League World Series run with a loss to the West regional champions from Petaluma, Calif., on Tuesday night. But their two wins in the tournament made them the most successful Little League team in Fairfield history.
The team is expected to return to Fairfield between 2-3 p.m., Thursday in the parking lot behind Sherman Green, at the intersection of Post and Reef roads. First Selectman Michael Tetreau and other town officials will be there to greet them along with friends, family and fans. The public is invited to come and show its support.
