FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Former Fairfield Warde distance runner Harry Warnick helped the Villanova University men’s cross country team win its second straight Big East championship on Oct. 31.
Warnick, a sophomore, finished 12th overall for the Wildcats in the Big East race, which was held in Carmel, Ind.
He earned Big East honors by running the 8-kilometer (nearly five-mile) course in 24:16.7. He was Villanova’s sixth runner as the Wildcats won with just 23 points, the lowest total in the history of the meet. It was Villanova’s sixth Big East title.
The Wildcats, ranked seventh in the country, will compete in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional next week.
