Ludlowe Falls to Wilton in Lacrosse Finale

If the Fairfield Ludlowe girls lacrosse team was hoping for some momentum heading into the playoffs, it was in for a tough time against arguably the best team in the state. The Falcons kept pace with Wilton for the first 30 minutes of Tuesday's game, but the Warriors' explosive offense proved to be too much. Wilton pulled away in the final minutes to crush Ludlowe 12-5.

Ludlowe trailed just 4-3 at the half and kept the game a 5-4 until Wilton's Tegan Helms turned on the afterburners. Helms finished with five goals, while Casey Pearsall added three. Ashley Kirby, Kendall Stevenson and Ali Golab all scored for Ludlowe. K.C. McAuliffe assisted twice.

Ludlowe finishes the regular season with a 10-5 overall record and a 9-4 conference record. The Falcons will likely enter the FCIAC tournament as the five-seed and take on Darien when the playoffs begin on Friday. Check back later this week for the official playoff schedule.
