Norwalk-Based Diving Team Heads to Nationals

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Eight young divers from Norwalk-based Next Generation Diving will compete at the YMCA Nationals beginning April 20 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Next Gen’s divers include Weston’s Liam Simmons and Hannah Schroeder, Stamford’s Declan Rowley, Fairfield’s Robert McCrory, Michael Connelly and Kelsey Tague, New Haven's Kevin Jimenez-Cowell and Southbury's Jessica Horn.

The divers train year-round to qualify on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at national level meets. The team is coached by Chris Bergere, the head diving coach at Yale University, and Jeanine Oburchay. The team trains at the Norwalk YMCA.
