FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A road race scheduled for Saturday in Southport has been canceled. Organizers are hoping to have a re-scheduled date by the end of week, according to a statement on the Southport Racquet Club's website.

The inaugural 5k Run/Walk to End Alzheimer’s had been scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Southport was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, forcing race officials to cancel the race.
A decision on the Reservoir Run half marathon in Weston is expected later today. The race is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Dr. Betty Rogers Rubenstein of Fairfield died Sunday May 19. She was 92.
