FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Wakeman Boys & Girls Club in Southport will hold its newest fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. at Jennings Beach in Fairfield. Freezin’ for a Reason is an event where individuals and groups jump into Long Island Sound to raise money for Wakeman. Participants receive pledges from friends and family to support their leap.

The polar plunge will raise funds for more than 100 programs that take place annually at Wakeman’s Southport and Stratfield Clubhouses in Fairfield and the new Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse in Bridgeport.

Prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers in various categories, and plungers are invited to a post-plunge party immediately following the event.  In order to plunge and attend the after-party, adults are asked to raise a minimum of $200 and kids a minimum of $100.

To learn more or sign up, visit www.firstgiving.com/wakeman/freezin or call Wakeman’s Development Office at 203-908-3378.
