The Fairfield Warde High School girls track team swept the penultimate meet of the regular season Monday, easily handling St. Joseph's by a 111-33 score and beating host Wilton by a narrow 76-69 margin.
The Mustangs were outscored on the track but compensated for that by dominating the field events, led by triple winner Alyson Lepla, who swept the three throws shot, discus and javelin. Warde won only two running events Cate Allen in the 1,600-meter run and Caitlin Giff in the 100-meter hurdles. But the field strength was enough to hold off Wilton for the win.
