Fairfield Warde girls tennis became the 21st consecutive victim of the powerhouse New Canaan team. The top-seed in the Connecticut L Division dropped the ninth-seeded Warde girls 6-1. Fairfield Ludlowe's girls were also eliminated with a 5-2 loss to No. 2 Glastonbury.
On Tuesday, Warde had traveled to Newington and picked up a 7-0 sweep over the No. 8 host team in their state tourney opener. On Wednesday, however, only Haley Wolf in the No. 2 singles match could pick up another win.

#2 Doubles: Amanda Merjian/ Kristin Laub vs. Abby O'Hara/Elise Finzi NC 6-2, 6-0
#3 Doubles: Phoebe Wilks/Kate Howard vs. Mackenzie Hiltz/Carin Gannon NC 6-2, 6-2

Ludlowe's girls lost after picking up wins over Hamden and Simsbury. Glastonbury meets another FCIAC team, Greenwich, in Thursday's semifinals.
