A 21-year-old Camden City man has been sentenced to 55 years in New Jersey State Prison for killing a Philadelphia man, authorities said.
Antony Shields was sentenced on Friday, April 19, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay. He must serve 85 percent of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

On Saturday, March 23, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Mount Ephraim police were dispatched to the parking lot of a business at 20 West Kings Highway, Mount Ephraim, for an unconscious male. Poliec found the victim, a 46-year-old man from Mount Ephraim, lying on the ground, suffering from an apparent head injury.

Luis A. Santos, a city resident, died on Monday night, March 4, of injuries from a January 2023 assault, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
On Jan. 11, 2023, at approximately 9 p.m., Camden County police and EMS personnel responded to Baird Boulevard and Langham Avenue in Camden City for a report of an unconscious man.

Richard Earl III, 40, of Vineland, was driving a Ford Transit Van northbound on North Main Road near East Landis Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29 when Gurmeet Singh was struck, according to Vineland Police.

A Sicklerville man died of his injuries 12 days after he was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Deptford Township, police said.
Shawn McHugh, 51, crashed shortly after noon on Jan. 6 at the intersection of Delsea Drive and Fox Run Road, according to Deptford police Detective Sgt. Robert Jones.
McHugh died on Jan. 18 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, Jones said.
The other driver, a 27-year-old Deptford man, was not injured.
