FAIRFIELD, CONN. -- Construction work on I-95 bridges in Fairfield will force the nighttime closures of certain roads, the state Department of Transportation announced this week.
The work, which began Monday, includes milling, concrete bridge deck repairs, and paving between Exit 23 and Exit 26 in both directions.
It will take place between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m., the DOT said.
Only two bridges will be worked on at a time.
The roads that will be affected are: New England Avenue and Sunset Avenue, Kings Highway East and Black Rock Turnpike, Chambers Street and Brentwood Avenue, and Coolidge Street.
Police officers will direct traffic to alternate routes while the roads are closed.
The next phase of the project may involve ramp closures and detours will be established and marked, the DOT said.
