The project, near the former General Electric plant below Old Mill Green, involves reducing two lanes to one, installing temporary precast barrier and pavement markings on the westbound side of Boston Avenue. This is in preparation for future repairs necessary on Bridge No. 00325 over Stillman Pond Brook, the state DOT said in a press release.

According to the Connecticut Post, DOT estimates that the bridge’s rehabilitation is expected to cost $3 million, with the federal government paying $2.4 million. The Post added agency has not released a timetable as to when actual repairs will occur -- only listing 2019 fiscal year as the project time.

The extra work will be performed by Waters Construction Co. of Bridgeport. The project is being administered by the Department of Transportation Office of Construction in New Haven.
