Nothing that is being proposed would have prevented Adam Lanza from doing what he did. Nothing, Wearing a ribbon or crossing your fingers would have the same effect. View Comment
Repeal cars: 50,000 adults and children killed every year. 985,000 world-wide.
Repeal peanut butter: 150 children per year die from food allergies
Repeal soccer: 900 deaths each year.
Repeal sex: at least one that we know of died: Nelson Rockefeller, but so many countless, faceless others have needlessly died in the saddle. If we can just save one life, it's worth it. They deserve a vote.

Screw-up #1 for this kid, right out of the box and the campaign is barely hours old. Imagine this kid having the responsibilties of running a City? Vinny Coconuts is obviously approaching the election like Eliot Spitzer approached his social networking: with reckless disregard for propriety and the law. He thinks its a joke. He has no more gravitas than a high school senior and looks just about as mature. View Comment
There will be hearings on the capital budget until April. That's where the city puts borrowed money toward sidewalks. If you want sidewalks, stop whining and go to the hearings and write, call, visit your council person. View Comment
Sounds like another waste of money disaster, like the pay phones that were installed years ago that no one ever used. What network infrastructure will it connect to? Verizon? ATT? Sprint? T-Mobile? Those are cell towers which are accessible by anyone who has a smartphone. You don't need WiFi if you have a smartphone. Few iPad users have WiFi-only models but have their own data plan. And more and more phones these days can act as their own WiFi hotspots or can be tethered to laptops. The equipment will never overcome data disconnects and drop-outs that plague any wifi device moving at 60 miles an hour. By the time the equipment gets installed it will be obsolete. Let's worry about having the trains run on time ar spending the money re-electrifying the Danbury line. Better yet, stop the madness with that bus expressway to nowhere for nobody and dump the cash into the Danbury branch. View Comment
