I applaud Mssrs. Becker and Palmer on leading the effort to restore fiscal sanity to what has been a historically unsound budgeting process lead by a classic liberal "tax and spend" policy balanced on the backs of taxpayers. The weak last minute "maneuver" by the town attorney - some would call it what it is: an effort to serve his own political interest - is the same politics as usual. Having worked in the bond market for over 25 years, no the RTM did not create a risk for the town. The real risk for the town is the continuation of the slow growth, tax and spend ways and the complete lack of fiscal discipline. Fine work by the RTM Republicans. Let's call this what it is: bad government without proper oversight that has attempted for too long to have the taxpayers pay for their mistakes and lack of management. This lack of disclosure is disturbing, if not illegal. View Comment
