Cops Follow Fairfield Thief's Trail in the Snow

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A string of early morning car burglaries were reported in the Stratfield section of Fairfield Tuesday. In addition, many residents found suspicious footprints in the snow in the area around North Stratfield School.

Two thefts and three break-ins were reported to Fairfield Police Tuesday morning. Loose change was taken from an unlocked car on Lloyd Place, and about $120 was stolen from another unlocked car on Wheeler Park Avenue. Two car windows were also smashed on Wheeler Park and another on Adley Road, but nothing was taken in those incidents.

Other Wheeler Park Avenue residents reported finding footprints in the snow around cars parked in driveways. Officers followed one trail of prints to the parking lot of North Stratfield School, through the wooded area behind the school and onto Adley Road before losing the trail.

Anyone with information about the incidents should contact the Fairfield Police at 203-254-4800.
