FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday for Fairfield County as the region deals with yet another bout of frozen precipitation.

The snow, which began overnight, will continue across the area until about 4 p.m., with temperatures in the mid-20s. Total daytime accumulations could be up to 5 inches.

Schools across Fairfield County are closed Thursday due to icy road conditions.

Light snow could linger in the evening hours, with minimal accumulations before skies gradually clear.

Friday will be sunny and cold with temperatures of only about 23 degrees.

Saturday will be partly sunny and slightly warmer with a high near freezing.

The warming trend will continue Sunday into Monday with temperatures reaching 40 degrees and above. Temperatures could get close to 50 degrees by mid-week next week.
